Again, coinciding with First Second Books' Vampire Month, here's the next in our alphabet of comic book vampires!

Enjoy!

Deacon Frost

Deacon Frost is an important figure in Marvel vampire history, as he is the vampire who both turned Blade's mother into a vampire (thereby making Blade a bit of a half-vampire) and also the one who turned Hannibal King into a vampire.

Right there, that's a pretty significant legacy!

However, Frost was cool otherwise. He was a scientist studying ways to become immortal, and he figured he would try to inject the blood of a vampire into a person, however, due to an accident, HE was injected with the blood. It turned him into a vampire, but one with a bizarre power - anyone he bit would automatically get a doppleganger that Frost would control. How the hell Wolfman came up with that idea is beyond me, but it's a useful power, no?

Frost planned on using this power to become the head vampire, unseating Dracula. Didn't work out that way!

In the first Blade film, Stephen Dorff plays Deacond Frost, but he plays him a lot different (most importantly, he's a lot younger).

An odd version of Deacon Frost popped up awhile back, but it was revealed that that was just a doppleganger.

Deacon Frost is a cool character - he should be used again (only without the whole doppleganger part of his powers)!!
