The script of Colin Trevorrow's version of Star Wars: Episode IX may have surfaced online, and fans giving it lots of love.

The unconfirmed script comes from Robert Meyer Burnett and his YouTube channel, THE BURNETTWORK, where he spends over four hours combing over the script and pointing out the differences between Trevorrow and Abrams' versions. However, if you don't have four extra hours to spare, a handy Subreddit summarizes all his findings, to the delight of many fans.

Titled Star Wars: Duel of the Fates, the script begins with Star Wars' iconic text crawl:

The iron grip of the FIRST ORDER has spread to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Only a few scattered planets remain unoccupied. Traitorous acts are punishable by death.

Determined to suffocate a growing unrest, Supreme Leader KYLO REN has silenced all communication between neighboring systems.

Led by GENERAL LEIA ORGANA, the Resistance has planned a secret mission to prevent their annihilation and forge a path to freedom...

It then shifts to a heist of First Oder Star Destroyer, led by Rose, BB-8, Finn, Poe and Rey -- sporting a hybrid weapon made up of her staff and Luke's lightsaber -- with things taking off from there. Kylo Ren is the main villain throughout the film, with Palpatine only making a small cameo as a hologram. Rose Tico also seems to have a much larger role in Trevorrow's script, and new Rise of Skywalker characters Jannah and Zorii Bliss are omitted. Leia's role as general is similar to Abrams' take, but her Jedi powers and training are toned down.

The script reveals that Kylo Ren killed Rey's parents -- who were indeed nobodies -- on orders from Snoke. Like The Rise of Skywalker, their relationship is central to the film, and the climax is their final confrontation. Rey, with the help of Force ghosts Yoda, Luke and Obi-Wan, tries to save Kylo and bring him back to the Light Side, but he refuses, with the script noting that he is eventually "extinguished."

Other fun tidbits include the Force ghost of Luke "haunting" Kylo Ren, a return to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and a fight between Kylo Ren and some version of Darth Vader.

As to the validity of this script, Burnett is well known within the sci-fi community, having worked as a Star Trek consultant for Viacom and Paramount Parks and on the marketing for Superman Returns. He also produced behind-the-scenes materials for DVD releases of multiple films, including Lord of the Rings, X-Men and Spider-Man. While this does not confirm that the script is real, it does lend it more credibility than others that have surfaced in the past.

The reactions on the Subreddit are mostly positive, although some are unhappy, while others are questioning the validity of the script.
