Pixar is headed to the Land of the Dead in the second trailer for Coco, the studio's latest original project. The animated film was unveiled with a first trailer back in March, and now a new trailer gives viewers a better idea of the main character's connection to this otherworld.
In a docket chocked full of sequels, Coco is Pixar's sole new intellectual property for the foreseeable future, as Cars 3, The Incredibles 2 and Toy Story 4 fill out the rest of the 2017-2019 slate. According to the film's official synopsis,
Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael García Bernal), and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.
Written and directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3) and Adrian Molina (The Good Dinosaur), Disney/Pixar’s Coco hits theaters on November 22, 2017.
