Cobra Kai actor Thomas Ian Griffith recently described his return as billionaire Terry Silver in Season 4 of the Netflix series as equally "absurd" and "fantastic."

"[Something] I think we've kept alive with Terry [on Cobra Kai] is bringing back that glee he has," Griffith told Entertainment Weekly. "He actually enjoys this -- he's this billionaire who will have all this going on and [still] go back to the small little world of a karate tournament in the Valley. It's so absurd that it's fantastic!"

The actor, who first portrayed the Cobra Kai Karate Academy founder in 1989's The Karate Kid Part III, added he only agreed to return to the show because they promised him a new version of Silver.

"I really have no interest in repeating anything. So how do we round out a guy like that? How do we get back to what made this guy tick? What drove him inside and what would make him come back into this world?" Griffith continued. "The [Cobra Kai] creators had really thought that out."

Griffith also reminisced about creating the original version of Silver for the 1989 film, noting, "With [Karate Kid Part III director] John Alvidsen, I'd be like, 'This is a little over the top.' And he was like, 'I want every little kid in America kicking you in the shins.' He just gave me free rein to run with it."

After being alluded to in the first two seasons of the show, a younger version of Silver was portrayed by Nick Marini in multiple Season 3 flashback scenes, which centered on Kreese and Silver's time together in Vietnam.

Fans got a first look at current day Silver in the latest poster for Season 4 of Cobra Kai, which depicts Griffith's character posing next to fellow villainous sensei John Kreese and their four Cobra Kai Dojo students. The right side of the poster shows Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), alongside their four Miyagi-Do Karate students.

The official synopsis for Cobra Kai Season 4 reads,

"As [Samantha LaRusso (Mary Mouser)] and Miguel try to maintain the dojo alliance and Robby goes all in at Cobra Kai, the fate of the Valley has never been more precarious. What tricks does Kreese have up his sleeve? Can Daniel and Johnny bury their decades-long hatchet to defeat Kreese? Or will Cobra Kai become the face of karate in the valley?"

Season 4 of Cobra Kai is slated to premiere on Netflix on Friday, Dec. 31.
