While Cobra Kai fans have their proverbial fangs sharpened for Season 5, an intriguing new dimension to Terry Silver's consequential betrayal of John Kreese has arrived with a deleted scene from Season 4.

To herald September's DVD release of Cobra Kai Season 4, CBR is exclusively presenting a deleted scene, showcasing a seemingly innocuous get-together at a fancy restaurant that carries an underlying layer of ominous foreshadowing. Despite the whirlwind of punches and kicks seen throughout the series, Season 4's arrival of Terry Silver, the returning villain from 1989's The Karate Kid Part III, proved that martial arts machinations can take different forms. Case in point, Silver's karate-motivated reunion with old army buddy John Kreese may call for a posh celebration during the time of the scene, but every word that escapes his mouth is tainted by the flicking forked tongue of deception; one that will ultimately lead to a climactic betrayal in Season 4 that leaves Kreese incarcerated and Silver as the sole proprietor of a powerful new version of the Cobra Kai dojo franchise.

Thus, the deleted scene shows the duo during more pleasant times in their renewed effort to establish Cobra Kai's dojo dominance of the San Fernando Valley. Silver, in repertory fashion, says all the right things that Kreese needs to hear, notably bellicose platitudes about smiting their enemies in line with the organization's ethos of "No Mercy." Moreover, he even plies his former mentor and partner in crime with a literal taste of the high life with a bottle of Macallan Single Malt Scotch Whisky, aged from 1954. To put that into context, a bottle of that particular vintage apparently goes for around $42,000 -- a true testament to the wealth that the sinister Silver has at his disposal as an industrial waste tycoon.

Interestingly, the scene also reflects the culmination of an arc for Silver, who, at the beginning of Season 4, was initially reluctant to join Kreese in this latest bout of dojo warfare, having reinvented himself as a namaste-spouting man of peace. However, Kreese strongly insisted that he needed Silver's help and even played the guilt card, recalling how he saved his life in a prison camp while serving in the Vietnam War. Consequently, Silver abruptly put aside his days of yoga and organics to join Kreese; an activity that reignited his dormant sadistic, Machiavellian nature on an entirely new level.
