The third season of the acclaimed Karate Kid sequel series Cobra Kai strikes on Netflix this January.

The streaming giant has revealed an official teaser trailer for Cobra Kai Season 3, which is set to premiere on Jan. 8, 2021. The teaser recaps the events of the Season 2 finale, "No Mercy," in which Robby Keene kicks Miguel Diaz off a balcony, causing him to fall spine-first onto a handrail below. It also shows numerous returning faces from Cobra Kai, including Robby -- who is now incarcerated at a correctional facility -- as well as Samantha LaRusso, Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz and, of course, Karate Kid originals Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso. The teaser concludes with Miguel waking up in his hospital bed as the message "Cobra Kai never dies" flashes on screen, along with the announcement that the series has been renewed for Season 4.

Set 34 years after the events of 1984's The Karate Kid, Cobra Kai premiered its first season on YouTube Premium (then known as YouTube Red) in May of 2018, with the show returning for Season 2 in April of 2019. Following massive critical success for both seasons, a third was ordered by YouTube Premium and scheduled to arrive sometime this year. However, YouTube then released the series, with production company Sony Pictures Television taking it to Netflix for Season 3 and beyond.

Cobra Kai stars William Zabka, Ralph Macchio, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, Peyton List and Martin Kove. Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Netflix. Season 3 premieres on Jan. 8, 2021.
