WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Season 3 of Cobra Kai, streaming now on Netflix.

While Cobra Kai has always woven in callbacks and Easter eggs directly to The Karate Kid film trilogy, the Netflix original series kicks things up a notch for its third season, with nearly two dozen allusions in all.

Netflix has released a featurette running down 23 nods to The Karate Kid franchise's history, outside of the appearances of classic characters like Kumiko, Chozen and Ali Schwarber. From lifted lines of dialogue to soundtrack cues, Season 3 dials up the Easter eggs.

One of the more obscure callbacks to the franchise is the inclusion of the Miyagi-Do shrine, briefly seen at Chozen's dojo in Okinawa halfway through the season. The artifacts were recovered by Daniel LaRusso and Mister Miyagi in the short-lived Karate Kid animated series, which ran for thirteen episodes in 1989.

Since launching its third season on New Year's Day, Cobra Kai has been streamed by over 41 million households and reached the top viewership position in 28 different countries. Months before the Season 3 premiere, Netflix renewed Cobra Kai for a fourth season as the conflict against the San Fernando Valley's karate dojos escalates.

Cobra Kai stars William Zabka, Ralph Macchio, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, Peyton List and Martin Kove. All three seasons available to stream on Netflix.
