To promote Cobra Kai, YouTube and ESPN have partnered for a mockumentary detailing the aftermath of the famous match between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence at the All Valley Karate Championship in 1984's The Karate Kid.

The clip spoofs ESPN's 30 for 30 series by placing Ralph Macchio's Daniel and William Zabka's Johnny under the microscope to build hype towards the Season 2 premiere on April 24.

The video offers insight into the iconic showdown, not just from the fighters, but also from the likes of evil master John Kreese (Martin Kove), who will return to the franchise once more to remind Daniel his cruel way is the only way karate should be taught. They all share their opinions as they run through the importance of the crane kick Daniel sealed victory with, which would go on to become one of pop culture's biggest moments.

Of course, treating the fight as a real affair helps cultivate that sporty atmosphere for the second season, where an older Johnny will revive the Cobra Kai dojo, while Daniel tries to start his own one built on the late Mr. Miyagi's philosophy of peace.

As the spoof reveals, what's for certain is the Cobra Kai team believes Daniel's win was nothing more than a fluke. Just like these ESPN analysts in the video, we will all be waiting for the rematch of these new senseis on the block.

Starring William Zabka, Ralph Macchio, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan and Martin Kove, Cobra Kai returns to YouTube Premium (previously YouTube Red) on April 24.
