The Cobra Kai cast is already looking 30 years into the future in hopes of starring in another reboot.

Since its premiere on YouTube Red in 2018, Cobra Kai is still going strong on Netflix, but the younger cast is already interested in appearing in another revival decades from now. "Oh yeah, of course," Devon Lee actor Oona O'Brien said. "And I think we've all made lifelong friends on this set as well." Griffin Santopietro, who plays Daniel LaRusso's son Anthony, agreed. "I feel as though Cobra Kai really shaped our careers in a whole different light," he said. "And I think to have the opportunity to go back 20-30 years -- I just think that would be incredible to be a part of that."

Other Cobra Kai cast members expressed interest in being part of such a project. "It'd be crazy seeing everyone," Blue Beetle star Xolo Maridueña said. "Yeah, I'm down, I'm in," Mary Mouser, aka Samantha LaRusso, agreed. Gianni DeCenzo chimed in, saying, "We keep doing 30 years later, just over and over again." Tory Nichols actor Peyton List also agreed with the proposal, offering a simple "Yeah."

Where Does the Karate Kid Franchise Go From Here?

OG Karate Kid Ralph Macchio also recently spoke about the franchise's legacy going forward, likening its trajectory to the mega-popular Marvel Cinematic Universe. "The thing that's been created -- there's kind of this Karate Kid Cinematic Universe now where Cobra Kai is at the center of that," the actor said. "And when that day does come in for a landing, there are other areas to draw from."

Macchio also brought up the countless ways Cobra Kai could expand its storyline, including a Miyagi origin story, a potential Cobra Kai prequel before The Karate Kid, and spinoffs following the younger characters. "We're not done as long as we're given the opportunity to really bring it in," Macchio said. "As long as it evolves organically, these guys that write the show really have their finger on the pulse of that." He also expressed his hope for Cobra Kai to continue into more seasons, saying, "There's stuff that was in Season 5 that we know we shot that is being held for the future if we get that green light, so there's more to come, we hope."

Cobra Kai Season 5 premieres Sept. 9 on Netflix.
