Cobra Kai co-creator Hayden Schlossberg wants to know who should meet their maker in Season 5.

Schlossberg offered a hypothetical scenario to fans on Twitter, asking who out of the Netflix show's main characters should die in the upcoming season. "If a major character were to die in Cobra Kai this season, who do you think it would be?" Schlossberg wrote on Twitter. Co-created by Schlossberg, Jon Hurwitz Josh Heald, Cobra Kai wrapped filming on its fifth season in December 2021.

It was announced in August 2021 that Cobra Kai had been renewed by Netflix for Season 5, and that production would begin in Atlanta, GA in the fall of that same year. Season 4 premiered in December 2021 as well and saw the return of the All Valley Karate Tournament, which was featured in the original 1984 The Karate Kid movie. While it hasn't been officially confirmed, Hurwitz revealed that there were plans for the series beyond the fifth season. "We are definitely writing towards an endgame, which will hopefully be beyond Season 5," he said.

Beyond that, Heald has also revealed that the series has no intention of stopping at Season 5. "We can't believe we've filmed two seasons of the show this year," he said in September 2021. "In our minds, it's crazy to believe how far ahead of the story we are than what the audience has seen so far. Season 5 is another enormous season with a lot of new flavors and a lot of things that you haven't seen before yet on the show. And it's not the end."

Netflix released the official trailer for Season 5 of Cobra Kai in August. Season 5 will pick up after the events of Season 4, which saw Johnny (William Zabka) and Danny LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) prepping their students to take on the Cobra Kai dojo in the upcoming All Valley Karate tournament. Season 4 also featured the return of Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver, the main antagonist of the 1989 film, The Karate Kid Part III, after being alluded to throughout the first two seasons of the show.

Cobra Kai is set 34 years after the events of the original 1984 film The Karate Kid. The series originally premiered on YouTube Premium in May 2018 and, following the release of Season 2 on the platform, Netflix won a bidding war to stream the series for Season 3. Cobra Kai centers around Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Danny LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), who are now adults and senseis of their own respective dojos (Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do Karate).

All four seasons of Cobra Kai are currently available to stream on Netflix.
