With a trailer for the third entry in the Cloverfield franchise, tentatively titled God Particle, still to drop, reports have emerged suggesting that a fourth chapter in the universe created by J.J. Abrams may have already been shot.

According to /Film, that movie is titled Overlord and it will be released on Oct. 26. The movie, produced by Abrams' Bad Robot and directed by Julius Avery (Son of a Gun) will reportedly focus on American soldiers in World War II going after Nazis only to realize Hitler's troops are using supernatural forces to strengthen their cause. Abrams is set to continue his relationship with Paramount Pictures, which is set to distribute, according to the rumors.

Abrams kicked off this universe with 2008's Cloverfield, focusing on a massive alien attacking New York, while a 2016 sequel, 10 Cloverfield Lane, dealt with a kidnap victim Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) escaping to what seems to be another alien invasion. While these movies are loosely connected in terms of plot and timeline, fans are eager to see how God Particle ties into the franchise, as it revolves around humans experimenting in space only to find themselves lampooned and in distress; and just what seeds could be sewn for the secretive Overlord.

So far the common thread in this universe has been a mysterious company called Tagruato, which appears in all the movies' viral marketing. It remains to be seen how it will tie into this trip to the past.
