WARNING: The following contains spoilers for War for Earth-3 #2, now on sale from DC Comics.

The conclusion of War for Earth-3 #2 comes with the stunning reveal that Amanda Waller now has her own Justice League, led by Match -- the clone of Superboy -- with the evil Superwoman of Earth-3 right behind him.

The dramatic reveal occurs in the final pages of the issue, which ends with Waller masking Earth-3 from the rest of the multiverse and presenting Match with his own Superman costume. Match and the vampiric Nocturna -- both of whom have developed romantic feelings for each other over the last several issues of Suicide Squad --  question whether allying themselves with Waller is a good idea. Finally, they decide that Waller's opportunity gives them the chance "to be something more than carbon copies." Match dons the Superman outfit -- which is nearly all black with a backward S, as befitting his tendency to turn into a Bizarro -- and darts into action alongside a new version of the Justice League.

Aside from Match and Noctura, this new League includes former Earth-3 Crime Syndicate members Superwoman, Power Ring and Johnny Quick, as well as the Earth-3 version of Black Canary, dubbed Black Siren. A horrific version of Etrigan crossed with Brainiac -- named Etrigan the Brainiac 666 -- constitutes the final member of Amanda Waller's new team.

Waller's plans to form a Justice League of her own were hinted at in Future State: Suicide Squad, a two-part series released last January as part of DC's Future State initiative. In the tale -- set within a possible alternate future -- Waller grew sickened with the unpredictable chaos of Earth and decided to relocate her Suicide Squad to Earth-3 and dominate it.

2021's Suicide Squad series has depicted Waller hatching her plot in mainstream continuity. Her scheme culminated in convincing Crime Syndicate leader Ultraman to let her control Earth-3 from behind the scenes in the pages of War for Earth-3 #1. Waller was hounded at every turn by Rick Flagg and an insurgent group of Suicide Squad members, who managed to convince Ultraman to defy her -- only for the Earth-3 dictator to get sucked away into the Phantom Zone.

Waller's final victory comes as the normal Justice League are set to die at the hands of Pariah's Dark Army in "The Death of the Justice League," a story arc kicking off in April with Justice League #75. Whether Waller will take advantage of the absence of DC's finest to cause trouble with her own deadly team remains to be seen.

War for Earth-3 #2, written by Dennis Hopeless and Robbie Thompson, illustrated by Ariel Olivetti, Dexter Vines, Julio Ferreira, Brent Peeples and Kieran McKeown, colored by Matt Herms and lettered by Simon Bowland, is on sale now from DC.
