Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen discover a surprising connection in an extended scene from Marvel's Cloak & Dagger, which premieres June 7 on Freeform.
Released Thursday night during the Freeform Summit, the three-and-a-half-minute scene depicts Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) and Tandy (Olivia Holt) bumping into each other -- seemingly by accident -- at a party. However, Tyrone quickly discovers his wallet has been stolen, and pursues Tandy through a cemetery. When they make contact, light erupts from Tandy's hand, and the two are hurled apart, a reminder that they first met as children under starkly different circumstances.
Based on the Marvel Comics characters created by Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan, the teen romance drama (with superpowers, naturally) centers on the two teens who are burdened with their newly acquired abilities: Tyrone, aka Cloak, can engulf others in darkness, while Tandy, aka Dagger, can emit daggers of light. Although they learn they're better together than apart, their growing feelings for each other further complicates an already-challenging world.
Arriving with a two-premiere on June 7 on Freeform, Cloak & Dagger stars Olivia Holt as Tandy Bowen/Dagger and Aubrey Joseph as Tyrone Johnson/Cloak, as well as Andrea Roth as Tandy’s mother Melissa Bowen, Gloria Reuben as Tyrone’s mother Adina Johnson, Miles Mussenden as Tyrone’s father Michael Johnson, Carl Lundstedt as Tandy’s partner in crime Liam, James Saito as Dr. Bernard Sanjo and J.D. Evermore as Detective Connors.
