The first season of Freeform's Cloak & Dagger and the second season of Netflix's Luke Cage each had a passing reference to the other series, proving that, despite airing on different networks, they are firmly set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cloak & Dagger showrunner Joe Pokaski shared how the Luke Cage Easter egg came to be.

"It came from someone at Marvel. I love [Luke Cage showrunner] Cheo [Hodari Coker], and I’m a big fan of Simone [Missick], so I’ve always been like, 'What can we do? How can we get Misty Knight? She’s the coolest,'" Pokaski told Vulture. "Since the Brigid character was from New York, we should reference it. Perhaps she has been friends or ridden with Misty at some point. And all parties seemed cool with it. It was one of those little things where if you don’t know what they are talking about, it doesn’t really affect your experience."

Portrayed by Emma Lahana, Brigid O'Reilly is a police detective recently transferred to New Orleans from Harlem. Over the course of Cloak & Dagger's first season, O'Reilly makes a passing reference to being friends and former partners with Luke Cage character Misty Knight. Not to be outdone, the second season of Luke Cage has Knight mention her former partner has since relocated to New Orleans.
