After dropping the initial trailer for Cloak & Dagger last year, Freeform has finally announced a June premiere date for Marvel's first series on the network.
As part of their Freeform Summit this evening, the Disney-owned network finally announced a premiere date for Cloak & Dagger. The series originally debuted a buzzy trailer last year, helping to ignite interest among fans, but never unveiled a release date beyond 2018. Now, it has been confirmed that the series will officially launch on June 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Along with a release date, Freeform has unveiled a brand new sneak peek at the series.
The newly released clip sees Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), aka Cloak, running into Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt), aka Dagger, at a party. However, this isn't the first time the duo has met. Following their story line in the comics, the two kids, who come from different paths in life, actually met under grim circumstances when they were much younger, leading to their powers.
Based on the Marvel Comics characters created by Bill Mantlo and Ed Hannigan, Cloak & Dagger stars Olivia Holt as Tandy Bowen/Dagger and Aubrey Joseph as Tyrone Johnson/Cloak, as well as Andrea Roth as Tandy’s mother Melissa Bowen, Gloria Reuben as Tyrone’s mother Adina Johnson, Miles Mussenden as Tyrone’s father Michael Johnson, Carl Lundstedt as Tandy’s partner in crime Liam, James Saito as Dr. Bernard Sanjo and J.D. Evermore as Detective Connors.
