Scholastic's popular line of Cleopatra in Space graphic novels by Mike Maihack are being adapted into an animated series this month.

DreamWorks Television, the studio behind Voltron: Legendary Defender and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, has released a trailer for the upcoming series. While investigating a mysterious tablet, the Ancient Egyptian Princess Cleopatra is teleported 30,000 years into the future, where she discovers she is the hero destined to save the galaxy.

While attending the futuristic high school P.Y.R.A.M.I.D., Cleopatra and her newfound friends traverse the cosmos to confront Octavian, a brutal interstellar tyrant with legions of robots at his disposal. Aware of the prophecies about Cleopatra, Octavian seeks to stop the teenage hero.

The upcoming animated series will stream through Peacock, NBCUniversal's new digital platform. Cleopatra in Space will be among the launch programming for the streaming service, with Xfinity customers receiving exclusive early access beginning April 15.

Developed for television by Doug Langdale and Fitzy Fitzmaurice, Cleopatra in Space stars Lilimar, Katie Crown, Jorge Diaz and Sendil Ramamurthy. The animated series premieres April 15 on NBCUniversal's streaming service Peacock.
