Classic "Superman" Character Pops Up on "Supergirl"

SPOILER WARNING: This article contains very minor spoilers for tonight's episode of "Supergirl," "Myriad" which has not concluded on the west coast as of publication.

If you're reading this, we're guessing (or at least hoping) you've already watched tonight's episode of "Supergirl." Big episode! Lots to talk about! But while the bigger events will be detailed in tonight's recap, we wanted to call your attention to a classic "Superman" character who popped up in an early scene tonight.

Apparently before Kara's involvement with the D.E.O., or maybe between episodes or something, the organization locked up Maxima. This is far from the first time that a character from the DC universe has popped up unexpectedly, but this mention was so casual that it more surprising than it might usually be. Additionally, Maxima's appearance coincides with the second time we've seen Indigo (a.k.a. Brainiac 8), and Maxima's connection with Brainiac is also not insignificant. Just a fun bit of color? Probably. But with "Supergirl," one never knows.

Regardless, she looks great. Flaming red hair? Check. Warrior-esque physique? Check. Awkward references to mating with Superman? Check.
