Classic Indie "The Trouble With Girls" To Be Reprinted

Official Press Release

DAYTON, Ohio -- Checker Book Publishing Group has announced a licensing agreement under which Checker will reprint the original The Trouble With Girls comics in a series of trade paperbacks beginning in November 2006.

The Trouble With Girls debuted in 1987 during the black and white comics heyday. Created by former National Lampoon contributors Will Jacobs and Eisner award winning author Gerard Jones; this series spoofed anyone and everyone as it quickly became one of the best selling indy titles of all time. Drawn by Tim Hamilton; this spy parody was a fan favorite and set the standard for independent comics humor.

Eventually, forty plus issues would appear under several publishing banners such as Eternity, Malibu, Comico, and Epic. The title was regarded as Malibu's best selling series prior to that company's demise.

The first edition, The Trouble With Girls, V. 1 (ISBN#: 1933160454), ships in November and will collect the first seven issues of the Malibu series. The second Volume (ISBN#: 1933160012) will also collect seven issues (#8-14) of the Malibu series and ships in January 2007.
