CBS released the first full trailer for Clarice, a sequel series that will follow Clarice Starling after the events of Silence of the Lambs.

In the trailer, Clarice (played by Rebecca Breeds) is asked to live up to her reputation "for hunting monsters" by coming "out of hiding" to return to her home in Appalachia, where a young woman has been murdered. The CBS Original is set to air Feb. 11.

The trailer shows Washington D.C. "living in fear," conspiracies that run deep and flashbacks to the infamous serial killer, Buffalo Bill. While Hannibal may not return for this series, Clarice is confronted with troubling memories from her past -- "old ghosts," as she calls them -- as well as fellow FBI agents who doubt her abilities as an agent, with one man telling her, "This isn't Buffalo territory anymore, Starling. We do evidence. Not 'it's a full moon and I've got a feeling.' So, you will keep quiet until I tell you, and you will say what I tell you."

Cut to Clarice standing at a crime scene surrounded by reporters, to whom she says, "Whose stories are worth telling? Whose are worth hearing? Never let anyone decide that for you." Based on the novel Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris -- and a sequel to the 1991 crime thriller of the same name starring Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster -- Clarice will pick up a year after the events of the original.

Venture into 1993, a year after the events of "The Silence of the Lambs," to explore the untold personal story of Clarice Starling as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high-stakes political world of Washington, D.C. Watch the series premiere of Clarice on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 10/9c on CBS and CBS All Access.

Clarice stars Rebecca Breeds as Clarice Starling, Michael Cudlitz as Paul Krendler, Lucca de Oliveira as Tomas Esquivel, Kal Penn as Shaan Tripathi, Nick Sandow as Agent Clarke, Devyn Tyler as Ardelia Mapp and Marnee Carpenter as Catherine Martin. The series premieres Feb. 11, 2021 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on CBS and CBS All Access.
