Though it's been a long time since he woke up in a seemingly abandoned London, Cillian Murphy has not ruled out a return to the zombie-filled world of Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later.

In a recent interview with CinePOP to promote A Quiet Place Part II, the actor was asked about his interest in returning for a third installment in the post-apocalyptic series. "I never say never," he responded. "I loved making that movie. It was a long time ago. It was like almost 20 years ago, you know. But sure, sure."

Murphy starred in 28 Days Later, the hugely successful film that helped to relaunch the zombie movie genre for a new generation with its "fast zombies" in 2002. That success led to the sequel 28 Weeks Later with Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne and Jeremy Renner in 2007. The franchise has also spawned a graphic novels and a comic book series.

Over the years, director Danny Boyle has referenced his and screenwriter Alex Garland's interest in making the third film — often assumed to be called 28 Months Later — but nothing has materialized.
