Chucky returns this October to invade Halloween in the first teaser for the show's second season.

SYFY released the first teaser for the second season of Chucky. Along with showing the titular murderous doll invading Halloween, the teaser gives the new season an official release date: Oct. 5. A description for the second season reads, "CHUCKY is a continuation of the iconic film franchise chronicling the murderous escapades of the notorious killer doll. In the TV series, Chucky crosses paths with archenemies, old allies and new prey, as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes. After his diabolical plan to invade America’s children’s hospitals was foiled in season one, Chucky now seeks revenge on those he holds responsible: surviving teens Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson) and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), along with his ex Tiffany, now his sworn enemy."

The first season of Chucky premiered on SYFY and USA Network in 2021. Created by Don Mancini, Chucky is based on the Child's Play film franchise, also created by Mancini, that began in 1988. Child's Play was followed by a total of six sequels, including 1990's Child's Play 2, 1991's Child's Play 3, 1998's Bride of Chucky, 2004's Seed of Chucky, 2013's Curse of Chucky and 2017's Cult of Chucky.

Picking up shortly where Cult of Chucky left off, the first season of Chucky sees the Good Guy Doll possessed by the spirit of serial killer Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) wind up in the hands of a fourteen-year-old boy named Jake Wheeler, who lives in the city of Hackensack, New Jersey. While Jake initially befriends the monstrous toy, he realizes Chucky is murdering folks around town and eventually enlists the help of his boyfriend Devon and former bully-turned-friend Lexy to stop the killer. The first season also stars Teo Briones as Jake's cousin Junior Wheeler, Devon Sawa as Jake's father and twin uncle, Jennifer Tilly as Chucky/Charles' lover, Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce and Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay.

And to the fans, Chucky sends his still-undying thanks and a message: 'This isn’t over, not by a long shot. You better watch your backs in 2022!'"

Chucky's second season premieres at 9 p.m. Oct. 5 on USA and SYFY.
