Prior to the release of this video, Fox and Lloyd posted a photo of themselves on Instagram captioned, "Time…tell me about it." Fox shared another photo on social media with the caption, "Doc and I are up to something heavy… @mrchristopherlloyd should we spill it?" Similarly, Lloyd shared the same images on Twitter. "If my calculations are correct, when this news hits 88mph…you’re gonna see some serious shit (on Instagram)," the actor wrote.

Is Back to the Future... Back?

Lloyd and Fox are perhaps best known for his their respective roles as Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown and Marty McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the franchise started with 1985's Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part II in 1989 and Back to the Future Part III in 1990. Lloyd also portrayed a live-action version of Rick Sanchez, the time-traveling mad scientist, in Season 5 of Adult Swim's Rick and Morty. Apart from his recent role in Spirit Halloween, Lloyd was cast in the upcoming third season of Disney+'s Star Wars series, The Mandalorian. He will appear in the series as a guest star, but details about his character have not yet been revealed.

As for Fox, the actor revealed in an October interview that if there were to be a remake of Back to the Future, he would like to see a gender swap for his iconic character, Marty McFly. "I actually had this thought that if they did the movie again, they should do it with a girl as Marty," he said and stated his belief that a return to the franchise would be inevitable, despite Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale being opposed to the idea of a remake.

"There’s something about it that connects with people on every level. I just feel like it will come around again," Fox said. Fox and Lloyd reunited in October for a Back to the Future panel at New York Comic-Con, where they discussed their experiences working on the film trilogy nearly four decades after its premiere in theaters.

Back to the Future is currently available to stream on Peacock.
