Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks has signed on to star in Roadies, Cameron Crowe's hour-long comedy pilot for Showtime, Deadline reports.

The series will go behind the scenes of a successful rock tour and focus on the crew members that keep the show running. Hendricks will play Shelli, the band's fiercely competent production manager. She will reportedly share plenty of screen time with Luke Wilson, who plays Shelli's work partner Bill. Joining Hendricks and Wilson are Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Peter Cambor and Keisha Castle-Hughes.

Crowe will write, direct and executive produce the Roadies pilot. Winnie Holzman and J.J. Abrams are also attached as executive producers.

Hendricks has starred as Joan Harris on AMC's Mad Men since the show's debut in 2007. That series has already wrapped production, and the second half of its seventh -- and final -- season is expected to air in 2015.
