With trips to LEGO Land and the Marvel Cinematic Universe already on the docket, why shouldn't Chris Pratt add one more high-value nerd property to the plate?

The star of Guardians of the Galaxy and The LEGO Movie is in early talks with Universal Pictures to join the cast of Jurassic World, the fourth film in the Jurassic series. If cast, Pratt would play the film's male lead, "a rugged ex-military man," a part that was originally lined up for Oldboy star Josh Brolin. It appears Brolin's attachment to Jurassic World wasn't as firm as some believed. Likewise, The Hollywood Reporter notes that Pratt's deal could similarly fall by the wayside: "There is an offer on the table but it's still early going."

If cast, Pratt would join a growing ensemble that includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson. Safety Not Guaranteed filmmaker Colin Trevorrow is directing the movie, aiming for release on June 12, 2015.
