Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's Star-Lord teases potentially switching universes as Chris Pratt asks fans which character they'd be interested to see him play in James Gunn's rebuilt DC Universe.

In an exclusive, soon-to-be-released interview with CBR, Pratt addressed the possibility of joining Gunn, the director for Vol. 3, in his DCU at some point. While the actor insisted Gunn hasn't offered him any potential parts in his revamped universe, he would answer the DC Studios co-CEO's call if he wanted to cast him. "As far as DC characters pan, I don't know. I will let the fans tell me what they would want me to do. I don't have anything official to announce. I haven't spoken to James Gunn in any capacity to where he's offered me anything like that," Pratt told CBR. "But listen, I love the guy. You know, he's one of my best friends. I totally believe in him. And if he calls me, I am answering."

However, Pratt admitted he has spoken to Gunn about potentially making the move to a new superhero franchise. The Vol. 3 lead actor praised the DC Studios executive for his vision regarding the new-look DCU while also expressing optimism about the much-anticipated threequel in the hallowed Guardians of the Galaxy live-action franchise. "Oh, my gosh. Oh, man. Of course, I've spoken to him. You know, I'm really happy for him, with the developments in his career," he said. "I think DC is super lucky to have him in that position. It's hard for me to imagine a person, a better person for that role. He just loves comics. He's so smart. He's such an auteur. We're obviously super, super pumped for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to come out. It's truly a masterpiece."

Pratt's Future After Star-Lord

Pratt, along with Vol. 3 co-star Dave Bautista, has been linked to Gunn's DCU for some time amid speculation over their respective futures. While Bautista has confirmed Vol.3 will be his final MCU effort, Pratt has been less open about his Marvel future. Gunn has teased the possibility of casting Pratt and Bautista for future DCU efforts, with many DC fans tipping him to play Booster Gold within the shared universe. It was announced in January that a Booster Gold HBO Max series would be among DC's new TV and movie slate.

While fans debate which DC character best suits Pratt, the actor will once again feature as the half-human, half-Celestial leader Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Vol. 3, featuring alongside Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Zoë Saldaña (Gamora), Bradley Cooper (Rocket) and Vin Diesel (Groot). Though Vol. 3 will be the longest film in the sub-franchise to date, clocking in at 2 hours and 29 minutes, Gunn and Pratt have promised it will be jam-packed with quality as it culminates in the team's end.
