Universal's Cowboy Ninja Viking has reportedly hit a speedbump.

Universal has delayed production on the Chris Pratt-led film indefinitely. The move comes a week after it was reported that Quantico star Priyanka Chopra had landed the female lead opposite Pratt after a successful chemistry test between the two.

While the film is currently delayed indefinitely, according to Collider it's said to still be very much in active development. Game of Thrones director Michelle MacLaren was set to direct Cowboy Ninja Viking from a script by Dan Mazeau, Ryan Engle, Craig Mazin, Paul Wernick and David Reese.

It's expected that MacLaren, along with star Chris Pratt, will remain attached to the project for the time being. As for Chopra, her future with the film remains unclear. It's expected that, should the project move forward, she will be the top choice once again. However, as always, it will all come down to scheduling and her availability.

Universal was filling out the supporting cast when the studio opted to halt production. The reason for the halt of production is said to be that the studio wasn't eager to rush a project simply to hit a release date, as it has "franchise hopes" for the title.

Cowboy Ninja Viking was originally slated set to hit theaters on June 28, 2019.
