Chris Pine Still Hopes to Be Part of Star Trek 4

Chris Pine may not be done portraying Captain James Tiberius Kirk in Star Trek 4 after all.

While attending the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) this week to promote his upcoming Netflix film Outlaw King, Pine was asked on the red carpet by Variety about the likelihood of him returning to reprise his role as the iconic Star Trek character.

"I don't know," admitted Pine when asked if he would be interested to reprise his role. "I'd love to be involved and we'll see what happens. I'll await the phone call, until then, I look forward to it."

After starring in all three of the rebooted continuity Star Trek films, Pine and co-star Chris Hemsworth had dropped out of a planned fourth film in the midst of salary negotiations last month. Reports indicated that Paramount was looking to reduce the budget for the sequel while Pine and Hemsworth wanted to maintain their previously contractually agreed salaries to return.

In the meantime, Pine is certainly staying busy with Wonder Woman 1984 in the midst of filming and Outlaw King scheduled to premiere on Netflix on November 9.
