Thor: Love and Thunder actor Chris Hemsworth had a hilarious response to the fact that his son prefers DC hero Superman to Marvel's God of Thunder.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe star posted a photo on Instagram this week that shows him and his little boy on the set of the next Thor film. In the photo, Hemsworth is rocking his luscious Thor locks, a muscle tank and shorts, while walking with his son, who's wearing a red cape.

"Holding my little man's hand and asking him the age-old question, 'What do you want to be when you grow up?'" the Australian actor captioned the shot. "'Dad I wanna be Superman.' Lucky I have two other kids."

Fans may recall that Hemsworth isn't the first MCU actor to realize that his own child isn't enamored with his superhero role. Back in 2017, Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt learned the hard way that his then 4-year-old son Jack wasn't a fan of Star-Lord.

"I don't know if he thinks it is cool but, he has seen the movies that I am in," Pratt revealed in an interview at the time. "He knows that I am Star-Lord. But as a matter of fact when I ask him 'Who is your favorite superhero, Star-Lord?' He says, 'No, Spider-Man.' He just likes Spider-Man better." Lucky for Jack, his dad starred alongside Tom Holland's Spider-Man in both 2018's Avengers: Infinity War and 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

Hemsworth has portrayed Thor in eight MCU films so far, beginning with 2011's Thor and appearing most recently in 2019's Avengers: Endgame. He will next appear in Thor: Love and Thunder.

New photos recently leaked from the set of Love and Thunder revealed that construction of New Asgard, the Earthbound residence of Thor's people following the events of Thor: Ragnarok, is currently underway in Sydney, Australia. The images feature a variety of buildings, including a pub and what looks to be a hotel offering tours.

While plot details remain scarce, it was previously revealed that Love and Thunder will see Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) wield Thor's hammer and title. The film is also expected to see the Asgardians teaming up with the Guardians to fight a new cosmic villain Gorr the God Butcher, who is being portrayed by Christian Bale.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillan as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
