Would Ryan Reynolds make a good, if leaner, Thor? And better yet, would Chris Hemsworth make a funnier Deadpool? Those are the big existential questions that the two actors have made the Internet ask ever since their most recent interaction on Twitter. It all started in good fun when Chris Hemsworth, who was celebrating his 35th birthday, joked about getting his head smacked onto the flaming candles of his cake. According to the actor, the incident, which was perpetrated by his young son, led him to be covered in facial scars similar to Deadpool 2's Wade Wilson -- meaning that he would now be ready to play the role of the Merc with a Mouth, should Ryan Reynolds ever decide to hang up the red, bullet-ridden suit.Naturally, Ryan Reynolds answered back, saying that he was now similarly brutally injured by his daughter. Finding himself without a right eye, the timing would be just right for him to play the God of Thunder, as he was seen in Avengers: Infinity War. "We can finally trade roles," Reynolds wrote, before wishing Hemsworth a happy birthday.RELATED: How Deadpool 2 Should Have Ended Enlists the Avengers

Of course, we don't expect the two actors to ever trade roles... but then again, what if they could? Disney is currently in the midst of acquiring 20th Century Fox's assets, a deal that is said to bring the X-Men -- and Deadpool -- back under the Marvel umbrella. If that is the case, then Reynolds and Hemsworth's respective superheroes could finally share the screen together, in a move that would be sure to please longtime Marvel fans.

Marvel Studios is known to make films with respective genres in mind and, after seeing political thrillers, heist films and cosmic space operas, it could finally be time for a good old fashioned body-swapping movie. Thor and Deadpool would make the perfect candidates for a Freak Friday-inspired caper, which would lead to all sorts of hilarious hijinks.

Reynolds himself is no stranger to body-switching films, after having starred in 2011's The Change-Up. So what's stopping him from doing it once again?
