While he's become an iconic God of Thunder since the character's big-screen debut in 2011, Chris Hemsworth admits that Thor: Love and Thunder added new expectations of his work.

"There's that same -- if not more -- pressure now to do that again," Hemsworth told GQ. "So there's a little bit of exciting nervous energy that is motivating all of us to reach a little further and make sure we're covering all bases and approaching the scene from every angle."

Despite these apprehensions, Hemsworth teased a more evolved chemistry in Love and Thunder between Thor and Chris Pratt's Star-Lord. Describing Pratt's comedic skills, Hemsworth called the Guardians of the Galaxy star "wildly impressive with the spontaneity and the humor and the things he comes up with." Hemsworth added, "It's both funny, inspiring and intimidating."

Thor and Peter Quill's humorous clash of egos was first shown in Avengers: Infinity War after the Guardians rescued Thor from space. Quill masked his insecurity toward Thor's physique by mocking The God of Thunder's voice. The duo would later reunite at the end of Avengers: Endgame, with Thor deciding to travel alongside the Guardians and deem Valkyrie the ruler of New Asgard. Despite seemingly pitting themselves against one another again in Endgame, Thor ultimately chose not to fight Quill for a leadership position on his ship.

Thor: Love and Thunder will feature the return of not only Thor, Valkyrie and the Guardians cast, but also Natalie Portman's Jane Foster. Recent behind the scene footage have teased Foster's physical transformation into The Mighty Thor -- taken from The Mighty Thor comic series that inspired director Taika Waititi's film.

Though Thor wielded an alternate version of Mjolnir that was eventually returned by Captain America in Endgame's final moments, another behind the scene video teased the hammer's return in Love and Thunder. However, at the time of this writing, it's unclear if Jane will wield the hammer or have her own Asguardian weapon.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillen as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022.
