Chris Hemsworth In Talks To Join Snow White And The Huntsman

As expected, Thor star Chris Hemsworth has begun negotiations for a lead role opposite Kristen Stewart in Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman, Heat Vision reports.

The studio has had difficulty tracking down an actor for the part in director Rupert Sanders’ fairy-tale retelling, moving from Michael Fassbender to Viggo Mortensen to Hugh Jackman before landing on Hemsworth.

Universal's movies, which also features Charlize Theron as the evil queen and Sam Claflin as the prince, elevates the huntsman -- a relatively minor character in the original tale -- to Snow White's mentor and protector.

Casting rising star Hemsworth would put Snow White and the Huntsman on track to begin filming in mid-September, and perhaps give it a leg up on Tarsem Singh's rival adaptation Brothers Grimm: Snow White at Relativity Media, which features Julia Roberts, Armie Hammer and Lily Collins.
