Many fans complaining about God of War: Ragnarok's depiction of Thor are comparing the video game iteration to Marvel's take on the character. Portrayed by Chris Hemsworth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the popular superhero version of Thor is often characterized by his well-defined and chiseled physique. While Hemsworth's God of Thunder is also a gigantic man covered with muscle, God of War's Thor is designed to resemble a more traditional strongman aesthetic.
