Chris Hemsworth Drops the Hammer On Cybercrime in 'Blackhat' Trailer

The new trailer for Universal and Legendary Pictures' Blackhat has arrived via Yahoo! Movies. The Michael Mann-directed thriller takes on the world of cyber crime, positing at the top of the trailer that "the next Pearl Harbor that we confront could very well be a cyber-attack." That one quote from former CIA Director Leon Panetta sets the tone for the rest of the clip, which plays out the real world devastation caused by the actions of one mysterious cyber-terrorist.

Chris Hemsworth stars as Nicholas Hathaway, an imprisoned hacker and genius coder trying to negotiate his way out of a fifteen-year prison sentence by assisting in the hunt for the larger-than-life cyber criminal. The trailer then hops all over the globe as major cities are placed in the crosshairs. Thor fans need not fear; Hemsworth cracks codes as well as heads in the film and even gets a quick shirtless shot in the clip.

Blackhat also stars Viola Davis, Tang Wei, Wang Leehom and John Ortiz and opens Jan. 16.
