Chris Evans Spoiled Avengers: Endgame for One of His Co-Stars

With Avengers: Endgame marking the culmination of nearly 11 years of storytelling, it's no surprise that Marvel Studios went through countless measures to keep the film's ending a secret. Despite the studio only sharing the official script with a few cast members, that didn't stop actor Chris Evans from spoiling one of the movie's key moments for co-star Anthony Mackie.

During an interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Evans revealed Mackie's reaction upon learning that he would be taking over the mantle of Captain America.

While we were filming in Atlanta... I had a few people over to watch a football game or something and Mackie was the first one to show up. I said to him, "Isn't that scene fantastic?!" and he said, "What scene?" and I said, "The scene where I give you the shield!" and he said, "You're giving me the shield?!"

Evans went on to discuss how he handed Mackie the script from the scene and watched the actor react in real-time, describing the moment as "a nice way to have, just between us, the transition of characters. It was great."
