Chris Evans praised Avengers: Endgame co-star Jeremy Renner’s resilience and tenacity following the Hawkeye actor's Snowcat accident on New Year’s Day.The Captain America actor expressed his admiration for his co-star in response to Renner's most recent tweet regarding his recovery process. "That’s one tough mf’er," Evans tweeted. "Has anyone even checked on the snowcat??? ...Sending so much love." Renner has portrayed Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Thor in 2011. He reprised the role throughout the MCU, including his most recent appearance as the arrow-wielding hero was the Disney+ series Hawkeye, which marked his seventh project with Marvel Studios. In November 2021, Renner revealed that he and the rest of the Avengers (Evans, Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Hemsworth) still have an ongoing group chat even after 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

"We don't really speak too much about our job, and that's what's also great about being, you know, Avenger Friends," Renner said at the time. "We speak about our kids and, you know, divorces and marriages and house building. We speak about just our life stuff... Our friendship is very, very special."

Jeremy Renner’s Road to Recovery

On Jan. 1, Renner was airlifted to the hospital after sustaining significant injuries in an accident with a snowplow on his property in Reno, Nevada. According to police reports, Renner was run over by his Snowcat vehicle while clearing snow on the private road on which he and his neighbors live in order to help a stranded citizen. The actor sustained "blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries," and Renner would later confirm that he broke 30 bones in total. After undergoing emergency surgery on Jan. 2, Renner posted a video update, assuring everyone that he was no longer in critical condition.

Renner has shared several updates regarding his recovery on social media. Recently, he shared that he was now recovering at home with his family. He has also debunked rumors claiming his leg injury might lead to an amputation, with a photo of him receiving physical therapy. "These 30-plus broken bones will mend, grow stronger, just like the love and bond with family and friends deepens."
