When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are plenty of fan-favorite fight scenes, from the group fight in Avengers: Age of Ultron against the various Ultron bots, or the the big fight between Iron Man, Captain America, and the Winter Soldier in Captain America: Civil War. But for actor Chris Evans, there's one scene in particular during his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that stands above the rest. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's from the critically acclaimed Captain America: Winder Solider.
In a recent sit-down with The Hollywood Reporter, Evans revealed that the elevator scene in Winter Solider is hands-down his favorite fight scene -- despite a fan's stealthy suggestion that the big fight in Civil War just may be the best.
"I'm partial to that fight scene in the elevator," he answered. "That was, uh, the first scene we shot in the second Captain America movie. It was my first time working with the Russos; it was the first time where it felt like Cap was kind of on his own."
"In the first Cap movie, you know, you really felt like everyone was holding my hand and the first Avengers movie, I just did my best to not get in the way," he continued. "The second Cap movie is the one that I really kind of felt, I suppose, pressure and that first elevator fight scene came out really great in my opinion."
In the video, Evans also reveals that he is in possession of Cap's shield, as well as his cowl, but hopes to secure the full suit. "I never asked for the full suit. Hemsworth got the full suit. I want the full suit." With Endgame set to be the last film on his current contract, let's hope he manages to get the full suit.
Evans can next be seen in April's Avengers: Endgame. The film was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Along with Evans, it stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau and Bradley Cooper, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Josh Brolin. Avengers: Endgame arrives April 26.
