Chobits, like Fruits Basket, is an older romance anime with dark undertones. The story was originally a manga written by the legendary all-female team of Clamp. The theme songs of the anime are legendary to this day, and the artwork for the manga covers is something that fans of art want to recreate.

There is also the fact that the love story in the show takes a completely different direction than traditional romances, and Hideki is not a college student, which is a rare topic in the anime world. The show doesn't take place at a school, which is a nice break, and instead focuses on more adult topics like a part-time job.

10 The Gorgeous Artwork

There is no arguing from the art community about how talented Clamp is at drawing their characters. Many of their works have accompanying art books, and the covers of the Chobits manga are made to be your computer wallpaper. Sadly, the anime at the time didn't really replicate this high-end art style.

While this is understandable for the time, a Chobits anime with more complicated art would please fans.

9 We Need More Humor

Comedy anime these days, with the exception of shows like Konosuba, are almost always harem based. While fans have no objection about a solid harem series, shows with good comedy are getting rare. Chi did a great job of bringing comedy to the series by just being herself, and it worked wonders.

Being made now would most likely allow for the show to expand on it's on comedy.

8 Darker Tones Like The Manga

When the show ended, most fans went and bought the manga. While the Chobits anime is one of the more faithful adaptions of a Manga, it misses some of the darker tones. All-in-all the series has some incredibly serious topics like the teacher who was left by her husband, who fell in love with a persocom.

There are also several instances where Chi and Freya are shown being taken advantage of, or in Freya's case, with a dark desire.

7 AI Is A Hot Topic

Now that we are in 2020, AI technology has come a long way, and we are basically waiting to see if we can make AI that can think for themselves. With how popular AI theories and technology are right now, Chobits would be a great anime to captivate the anime market with its social dilemmas.

The show touches on servitude, emotional capacity, and exploration of AI.

6 Chi Is Unique

Chi is one of the main characters of the show and a persocom who has lost her memory. This means that she has to learn everything over again, which is interesting. There is no quick resolution to her memory loss, and over the course of the series, she slowly gets a grasp on human topics.

Since she is made to develop a personality throughout the show, it is an interesting spin.

5 We Need To See More Of The Relationship

Chi and Hideki are in what may be considered like many, a forbidden relationship. Hideki rejects human women in order to be with Chi, who he even admits he can never fully be with. In the original series, though, we didn't get to see this love progress with much intimacy outside of words.

Seeing Hideki and Chi actually kiss would be a wonderful sight for fans.

4 The Merchandise Would Be Precious

Anime fans have already been treated to a detailed figure recently of the cover of the third manga. The truth is that back when Chobit's released; anime merchandise wasn't all that great. The small figures that were produced of the characters don't look all that appealing despite the quality of the manga.

Some more figures and plushies of the main cast would be appreciated.

3 The Animation Needs An Overhaul

The animation of the original series is a bit stiff. While it was good for the time, going back and watching the show reveals just how stiff the movement of the characters feels. This is a bit sad since we have now seen from other remakes just how good these older anime can look.

Chi has several scenes where she is static, or the animation looks like it is simply looping.

2 The Music

One thing that is still considered top tier even today is the music. The show had a stellar opening and closing song that could fit in with modern anime. Seeing Chobits come back with a bigger music selection would be the stuff of dreams for fans who love a good anime soundtrack.

Fans would likely even get more ending and opening themes this time around.

1 It May Provoke A Spin-off

The world of Chobits is one of the universes that could easily have a spin-off series, and no one would complain. The relationships between persocoms and humans are complicated, and after the ending of the show, it would only make sense if things got even more confusing to humans.

Diving deeper into the Chobits world would be a real treat.
