Chloë Moretz Offered Carrie Role

Kick-Ass and Hugo star Chloë Moretz has been offered the title role in the new MGM adaptation of Stephen King's Carrie, Deadline reports.

The 15-year-old actress, who'll next be seen in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows, would play Carrie White, a shy high-school student who uses her newly emerging telekinetic powers to exact revenge on the people who teased her. The role was made famous by Sissy Spacek in Brian De Palma’s 1976 film.

The new version will be directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry, Stop-Loss) from a script by comics writer and playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
