Netflix has debuted a teaser trailer for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina that will likely leave viewers happy the invitation to this hellish birthday party got lost in the mail.

Set to a haunting rendition of "Happy Birthday," the first footage establishes a horror-tinged tone that deviates wildly from its cousin, The CW's Riverdale. While that series has flirted with the genre, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina leans hard into horror, with no small amount of help from the goat-headed figure that lurked in the background of the latest poster.

Based on the 2014 horror comic by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Robert Hack, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina re-casts Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that’s been compared tonally to Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist. In the series, Sabrina attempts to reconcile her dual nature — she’s half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against evil forces that threaten her, her family and the world inhabited by humans.
