Even though Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina doesn't premiere until Friday, the Archie Comics adaptation is already in the midst of principal photography for its second season.

Kiernan Shipka, who stars as the titular witch for the upcoming series, confirms that filming is underway for its ten-episode second season.

"We went straight into the second season from the first and it’s been really so exceptionally fun to film, especially given the fact that I feel like we’re already in such a rhythm from coming out of the first season that to jump right into the second one was really, really fun and just a great opportunity to keep the momentum going," explained Shipka in an interview with Bloody Disgusting. "Sabrina definitely changes and shifts a lot. Her growth is very evident and the second season definitely has a different spin on it than the first season."

Netflix had commissioned the show for a straight-to-series commitment of two ten-episode seasons last December. Despite the back-to-back production schedule, Shipka clarifies that the second season will have a noticeably different feel than the first.

"Without giving too much away, because it would be a bit of a spoiler, the way that Sabrina’s life takes certain turns and certain decisions she makes inform the second season,” revealed Shipka. "The finale of the first season sets up a lot. It goes in a different direction. We see more different characters. It deals with a different side of things.”

Executive produced by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Riverdale), Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater, and Lee Toland Krieger, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stars Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson, and Bronson Pinchot. The first season arrives on October 26 on Netflix.
