Fans always hoped for a crossover between Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and one of its stars agrees it should happen.
While Chilling of Adventures of Sabrina is ending with its fourth and final part in December, star Kiernan Shipka commented on the possibility of a crossover between the two shows. During a roundtable interview attended by CBR, Shipka noted the murderous town of Riverdale could use a teenage witch now more than ever.
"Honestly, I just think Riverdale could use a witch," Shipka said. "They're going through a ton of stuff and they need some celestial whatever kind of vibes! They need a bit of extra power, they need someone who knows reincarnation, necromancy. They need that in their world and, I don't know, I just think it would be a fun world if the two collided at some point."
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the creator of both television series, revealed that the planned fifth installment of Sabrina would've featured a witch war between the denizens of Riverdale and Greendale if Netflix had chosen to renew the Archie Comics adaptation.
Part 3 of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina showed Sabrina and Ambrose Spellman briefly visiting the outskirts of Riverdale without meeting any familiar faces. In the past, Riverdale flirted with its own supernatural horror in a memorable nightmare episode. With Aguirre-Sacasa hinting at future plans for Sabrina beyond the Netflix series, fans speculated that Shipka's teenage witch might meet Archie Andrews soon.
