The spooky third part of Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is close to premiering, and there is some speculation that the witch and her gang will have some business with or in Riverdale.
TV Line's Michael Ausiello made some predictions about the eight-episode third installment of Sabrina, and he thinks Riverdale may have a role in the first episode. In his recurring column, "Ask Ausiello," he responded to a fan who still wants a Sabrina/Riverdale crossover.
He said, "I wouldn’t expect to see the teenage witch rubbing elbows with Betty and Veronica anytime soon, but you’ll be happy to know that the town of Riverdale plays a very specific role in an upcoming episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina‘s third part, which arrives in all its eight-episode glory on Friday, Jan. 24."
Although the shows air on different networks and have very different tones, both series share a creator and showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Both series also exist in the Archie comics universe, so some kind of intertextuality seems impossible to avoid. Fans of both shows seem to want to see the worlds collide, but an actual crossover seems to be a pipe dream, at the moment.
