While Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina ended its run in December 2020, series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is adamant that a crossover with sister series Riverdale is possible.

While promoting the return of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic book series, Aguirre-Sacasa reiterated that a television crossover between Sabrina and Riverdale could still occur. The creator cited that whether or not it does happen is dependent on the right timing and having the right story to tell to bring the two Archie Comics adaptations together.

"Absolutely there's hope," Aguirre-Sacasa told in CBR in response to a question about whether CAOS lead Kiernan Shipka will reprise her Sabrina role. "I think Kiernan is up for it. I think it's about finding the right story and making the timing work out. I can't say when but I truly think it will happen."

After running for four parts and a holiday special, the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina ended with the teenage witch in the afterlife to save her family and friends. While the Netflix original series included nods to Riverdale, with the town briefly visited, the two main casts never came into direct contact with one another. With Riverdale returning for Season 6 this November, the possibility for Sabrina Spellman meeting Archie Andrews remains an open one.

Written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and illustrated by Robert Hack, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #9 goes on sale on Oct. 13 from Archie Comics. Developed for television by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Riverdale Season 6 premieres Nov. 16 on The CW.
