Child's Play: Chucky Takes a Stab at Toy Story in New Poster

Child's Play

In February, a parody video took the theme from Child's Play and added it over Toy Story. Now, the official Child's Play Twitter account has tapped into that connection.

That parody video creatively used Toy Story footage to turn Andy's toys into demonic murdering psychos. In an official new poster for Child's Play, Chucky proves there is only one true psycho toy, as he walks by a dead and gutted Woody.

Perhaps not-so-coincidentally, the rebooted Child's Play movie and Toy Story 4 come out on the exact same day: June 21. Of course, Toy Story 4 is a Pixar movie meant for kids and Child's Play is an R-rated horror movie, so this is a case of counter-programming between the audiences and not a competition for viewers.

Based on characters by Don Mancini, Child's Play is written by Tyler Burton Smith and directed by Lars Klevberg. Scheduled to release on June 21, the film stars Aubrey Plaza, Mark Hamill, Brian Tyree Henry and Gabriel Bateman.
