Child's Play

Opening in theaters everywhere in a little over four months, the upcoming Child's Play reboot has released a new promo teasing the debut of the horror movie's first trailer.

In a mock toy commercial from the fictional Kaslan Corporation, Tim Matheson appears as the toy company's CEO Henry Kaslan in a video presentation mentioning a revolutionary new companion doll has been created by the company with a global announcement scheduled for this Friday, February 8.

"He's more than just a toy, he's a best friend," declares Kaslan of the company's revolutionary new Buddi doll.

Principal photography on the upcoming reboot began this past September in Vancouver before wrapping in November. After the film released a teaser image providing a glimpse of the new murderous Chucky doll in September, franchise co-creator Don Mancini voiced his criticism of the reboot proceeding without his involvement as he prepares a separate television series based on the popular horror franchise.

Child's Play is directed by Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) from a script by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury 2). The reboot stars Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry and Gabriel Bateman. The film is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 21.
