Surely, anyone who saw Alfonso Cuaron's Children of Men came away impressed and wanting more. So when that movie's producer starts talking about making its evil twin, it's time to pay attention.
Hilary Shor was the woman who made Children of Men happen, optioning PD James' novel and developing it for nine years before Cuaron came aboard. Now, she's turned her attention to something called Psychopomp, a script from former Spaceballs: The Animated Series director Blake Leibel centering around, according to the Hollywood Reporter, "a foul-mouthed anti-hero who roams international hot spots with state-of-the art weapons and technology with the aim of destroying those who violate his code." Shor explained,
This is the evil twin of the 'Children of Men' future world Alfonso created. A lot of material I'm best known for developing is 'weighty,' for lack of a better word, but this really appealed to me.
The script, described as a cross between The Dark Knight and A Clockwork Orange, will be adapted into a graphic novel prior to the movie.
