Starkiller Base may be light years ahead of the Death Star in terms of firepower, but the First Order apparently lags behind with its network. Or at least that’s the takeaway from Verizon’s new promotional tie-in to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Although the 30-second TV spot doesn’t reveal any new footage from the film, it does offer a team-up between Chewbacca and BB-8, who try to download information and avoid detection by First Order stormtroopers, only to be stymied by a slow network. Presumably, that’s not a spoiler for the movie.
Directed by J.J. Abrams, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens Dec. 18 in North America.
