Chewbacca Actor Wishes Star Wars Co-Pilot Harrison Ford a Happy Birthday

In light of Harrison Ford's 76th birthday yesterday, the legendary actor received an extra-special birthday wish from his iconic co-star, Peter Mayhew, who of course played Chewbacca in the classic Star Wars films.

Mayhew posted a photo of the two thespians on his personal Reddit, captioning the photo with praise for Ford as, "The best star pilot in the galaxy," adding that Ford is also still "a good friend."

The two were all smiles and looked to be having a good time, appearing very friendly and close. Ford kept things business-casual in a gray button-up shirt while Mayhew was ultra-casual in jeans and a personalized Star Wars tee.

Ford and Mayhew became friends while working on the original Star Wars back in the late '70s. Mayhew, who is 7'3", donned the Chewbacca outfit for the original trilogy from 1977-1983. He reprised the role for 2005's Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in which Ford gave his swan song to Han Solo.
