The fashion world is getting in on the hype surrounding “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, as Bloomingdale’s and 10 major designers have teamed up to reimagine some “Star Wars” characters’ costumes for a charitable initiative called “Force 4 Fashion.”
Each designer made two actual versions of the costumes below; one for display at Bloomingdale’s on December 3, and the other to be auctioned off, with proceeds going to their charity partner, the Child Mind Institute.
On the initiative, Bloomingdale’s exec Anne Keating says, “We are excited to fuse fashion with pop culture to raise awareness and funds for our long standing partner, Child Mind Institute, which has been a pioneer for children’s mental health.”
If you’re interested in picking up any of the designer “Star Wars” costumes, hit up CharityBuzz.com from December 2-18, while supplies last. Also be on the lookout for limited-edition “little brown bag” totes on the site, created by “The Force Awakens” costume designer Michael Kaplan.
