The CW released new details ahead of the upcoming Season 3 premiere of Charmed, which suggests The Charmed Ones may be in trouble.

Charmed's Season 3 premiere episode synopsis hinted that it might not be easy for The Charmed Ones to regain their powers and they'll have their hands full with The Faction.

The official synopsis for Season 3, Episode 1, "An Inconvenient Truth," reads,

The Charmed Ones’ (Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock and Sarah Jeffery) lives are in jeopardy as The Faction closes in. Macy and Harry (Rupert Evans) struggle to define their relationship. Stuart Gillard directed the episode written by Natalia Fernandez (episode #301).

Season 3, Episode 1's synopsis arrived a month after The CW first teased the show's return on Twitter by posting a short trailer. At the time, the official Charmed Twitter account posted a clip along with the caption, "The magic of sisterhood. Season 3 premieres Sunday, January 24! Stream next day free only on The CW."

The trailer itself showed The Charmed Ones assembling their team of allies and artifacts to help prevent the death of all magic. Meanwhile, a voiceover explained, "To restore life to the magical world requires the greatest power and the greatest sacrifice."

While few plot details have been revealed about Season 3, it's expected to pick up where Season 2 left off. While the majority of Season 2 followed Mel, Macy and Maggie as they learned more about dark forces actively hunting them, the Season 2 finale -- "Unsafe Space" -- ended with the trio losing their powers. Simultaneously, most of the Elders and Whitelighters were wiped out, making it more difficult for the sisters to regain their powers.

The show's return comes in the wake of actor Sarah Jeffery slamming original Charmed actors Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs last year after the duo posted an Instagram video in which they appeared to poke fun at The CW's reboot. The video showed McGowan commenting about the reboot, "But it sucks. I haven't seen it, I can't say that. I've never seen it... But I'm happy that people have jobs. But it can still suck." Combs then appeared on the screen and responded by laughing.

Charmed stars Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Melonie Diaz, Rupert Evans, Valerie Cruz, Ser’Darius Blain and Ellen Tamaki. It airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on The CW, with Season 3 premiering on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 9 pm ET/PT.
